"I bow to give thanks for being able to hear and enjoy the beautiful songs of birds."

A great first day back in the routine. I went to the gym before work, so I could run few errands before my night shift began. My foot injury seemed to be getting worse, but I worked my way around it. Plus, I skipped on shoulders to give some breaks. Last thing I want is another injury to set me back another few weeks in the weight training.

My evening was extremely packed - meal prepping and building some furnitures to organize the house more, but it was worth it. The next few evenings should be slower, now that I have gotten the major tasks out of the way.

"I bow to feel my soul being purified when I hear the sound of a clean, clear stream."

My first night at the new home. I must say that it was amazing. I think the majority had to do with the idea of having a permanent place. Where I can come back to, and rest.

The main goal of the day was to unpack and clean up the kitchen area. Like I promised myself yesterday, I focused on putting away all the open boxes and not open up any new ones. Which turned out to be very effective. Setting up achievable goals and completing them feels much better than trying to complete EVERYTHING at once, which only sets us up for a failure and a crippling anxiety. Just being present and not worry about the past nor the future is the key to happiness.

Once I was done with the kitchen area, I built couple drawers to temporarily store few of my clothes. It took awhile, but the result was much worth it. The sense of accomplishment plus the functionality of a working drawer presented a decent reward.

Despite my foot injury, I decided to go for a walk outside to enjoy the sun and to get familiar with the new neighbourhood. I found myself being fully present at that moment. I enjoyed the sun shining on my face, listening to laughters from families on a stroll, birds chirping, and dogs running around happily at the park.

"I bow to realize that the object of love and longing is life."

This morning was a unique start of the day. I slept over at my friend's place and the first thing we did in the morning was hitting the gym. It felt really nice being back at the gym and I cannot wait to go back to my old routine living in downtown. The mortgage payments are stressing me out, but I have plenty of cash to survive the next two months so I am going to focus on re-establishing my routine for now. Maybe after a month or so, I will look into rental situations.

Rest of my day was just getting to know the house a little better, and cleaning portions of the house. The house is VERY old, but it is certainly liveable. The whole part of me getting this house was to learn how to be a homeowner, so I should not complain that there are problems.

My way of unpacking today was a definition of me. I begin taking on way too much responsibilities at the beginning, such as opening up ALL the boxes to unpack, instead of getting things done portion by portion. And then I end up being overwhelmed, or simply run out of time to finish everything. This is a very different approach from my girlfriend's, which seems to be way more effective and less stressful. That being said, I am not going to open up any more boxes tomorrow, and am just going to finish off what I started.
