"I bow to rid myself of false humility, even if I am in bad circumstances."
Today was a day full of actions. 3am I got a call that my real estate deal is close to be finished. I managed to get some sleep before breakfast which then, I had to make an offer right after. There were few back and forth for minor adjustments, but my offer was accepted within few hours. Before the deal close, I was afraid to make the decision, and preferred a safer route. However, once the deal was closed, having the clarity of what is happening in the future got me to adjust to that reality quick, which I think is one of my greatest strength, and I was not worried anymore.
At the end of the day, I did tremendous amount of research and analysis before making the offer, so whichever the outcome I would have been fine. Just learned that uncertainty could cloud your judgement and make it way scarier than it really is. One of buddhist teachings include seeing things through your mind, meaning seeing things as they truly are.
An example monk used to describe this was, let's say there is a moon, a river, and us sitting. We see moon's reflection on a river, and that is how we normally perceive our reality. When cloud covers the moon, we can no longer see the moon. However, is the moon still there? Yes. We just do not see it through our eyes. Moon is always there. If you practice to see things through your mind instead, you should be able to know that moon is still there even if a cloud is covering the reflection.
